Maker's Mark Cocktail Party Recipes

The Conservative
Alias - Presbyterian

Recipe
  • 1-1/2 parts Maker’s Mark® Bourbon
  • 1/2 part club soda
  • 1/2 part ginger ale
  • Lemon twist

Fill a rocks glass with ice and add Maker’s Mark® Bourbon. Fill with equal parts club soda and ginger ale. Stir and garnish with a lemon twist.

Notes
Originally a nonalcoholic combination of ginger ale and club soda (hence the name, Presbyterian), the Presbyterian is usually served today as a combination of club soda, ginger ale and whisky. Classically simple, a truly heavenly Presbyterian always starts with Maker’s Mark®.

The Incumbent
Alias - Maker’s Mark Manhattan

Recipe
  • 1-1/2 parts Maker’s Mark® Bourbon
  • 1/2 part sweet vermouth
  • 1 teaspoon maraschino cherry juice
  • 1 maraschino cherry

Shake all together for 30 seconds. Strain into chilled Manhattan glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry (served up, no ice).

Notes
Traditionally made with whisky, sweet vermouth and bitters, the Manhattan is also open to variation and is often used by great bartenders as a way to show off their creativity.
